While modern machines may be able to mimic traditional weaving and the use of synthetic, plastic rattan has risen, the creation of each of our Pouf-01 is a long process which starts from harvesting the natural palms to drying, prepping, then weaving each individual piece by hand.

The Pouf-01 is a handwoven rattan pouf featuring a split malaka weave. Available in two coordinating sizes, the Pouf-01 makes the perfect soft seating in a living room, bedroom, or playroom. Add a tray and it can also be used for serving. 

In contrast with synthetic rattan commonly used for fast furniture, our natural and sustainably sourced rattan comes from locally grown palms which are endemic to the Philippines. 

Imprints of prehistoric mat weaving in the Philippines have been found on pottery and iron artifacts. Today these traditional techniques are still evident in the meticulous weaving and plaiting of natural leaves and grasses used for mats and baskets.

Care

Sustainably sourced, biodegradable, and endemic to the Philippines, natural rattan is made to be used and loved indoors or outdoors. Our Pouf-01 can adapt for indoor or outdoor living. Just be sure to store it indoors or keep it dry and covered when not actively being used outdoors.
